WIN, PODIUM AND TOP FIVE ALL IN A DAYS WORK FOR POSITION-ONE MOTORSPORTS
Release Date: 4/15/2010

The return of Sergio Pena to Toyota Speedway @ Irwindale ended on a high note with a 3rd place finish in the 50 lap feature last Saturday night. Sergio qualified 7th but ended up starting 6th due to a pile-up in the trophy dash. It took Sergio a few laps to get settled in after falling off the pace with leaders Nick Joanides and Ryan Reed. Steadily moving his way up through the field, he was able to bring the # 03 Position One Motorsports, King Taco Restaurants/Eibach Springs Chevy Monte Carlo home in 3rd place.

This was Sergio’s first race in the newly named "Pepsi Super Late Model Division.
"I hope to race three or four more times this year for Luis Martinez Sr. and Position-One Motorsports. You know I love this track." Said an obviously elated Sergio.

Randel King, driving the # 30 team car also had a good finish. Randel had a little harder time as he was battling flu-like symptoms all night. He qualified 4th , but started 2nd because of his 2nd place finish in the trophy dash. Spinning his tires at the start, Randel also fell off the pace early on and worked his way up to end up finishing 4th behind his teammate.

Luis Martinez Jr. had a homecoming of sorts as he ran in the S2 division. Qualifying just off the pole, Luis had to start in the inverted 5th position. By the end of the first lap he was already in the lead. He won the race by a substantial margin. It was a busy week for Luis Jr. as he had just made it back from Phoenix where he ran his second K & N Pro West Series race on Thursday night.

ABOUT POSITION-ONE:
Since its inception back in 2002, Position One Motorsports began the long and arduous task of establishing a strong reputation in the motorsports world. Position One began building its foundation with go-kart.

In 2008, Position One Motorsports did a 180° and entered the Whelen All American NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at Southern California’s Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, with Luis Martinez Jr. driving the #03 KING TACO powered Chevrolet. The result at the end of the season was a very respectable ninth place in the Championship standings out of 60 competitors. Martinez also entered a couple races in the NASCAR Camping World West Series which expanded his stock car resume.
In 2009, Position One continued competing in the Whelen All American NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. Also driving for Position-One Motorsports was Mackena Bell, in the #30 Drive for Diversity NGK Chevy Super Late Model. Both Martinez and Bell finished the season strong with one win and a few podiums between both drivers. Position One Motorsports also claimed the inaugural Langer’s S2 Division with Randel King as their primary driver, with 7 out of 8 victories!
Putting all the factors into play, it appears that Position One Motorsports has been and will continue to be a force to be reckoned with.
